Summer Programs for youths from 4th-6th grades
Midwest Asian Health Association:
Midwest Asian Health Association, located in Chinatown, is accepting applications for their Free Summer Youth Program through June 8. The program is intended for students between the age of 14-18, residing in Chicago. The program takes place Monday to Friday 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M., July 2, 2018-August 10, 2018 . Activities include: Arts & craftsmanship, outdoor activities, field trips, health workshops, civic engagement, pre-employment skill training, group discussions, community services, mental health education, leadership training, and more. There is no application fees and for students who have 80% attendance will receive a certificate and $150 stipends. Cermak Road, 3rd Floor, Chicago, 60616.

We provide full-day programs for students between Kindergarten and the 8th grade that engage them both physically and mentally. Through Code Play Learn, campers will spend half of their day creating, coding and building their own computer games, VEX robots, Apps, Minecraft-Mods or Stop-Motion movies. With a mix of interpersonal play time and screen time, our camps help campers develop their ability to think creatively, work collaboratively and reason systematically. The other half of their day campers will be engaged in Sports-Madness with Legacy Sports. Athletic activities at our Code Sports Camps feature games like Treasure Island, Hand Hockey, Illinois Jones, Countdown Dodgeball, Battleship, Capture the Flag and soccer. Beyond the athletic component, Legacy Sports instructors emphasize the development of character-building traits and positive communication skills.

Rush Mini Medical School Summer Program: The Rush Mini-Medical School is free and open to 4th through 6th graders. Students should be high-achieving, curious about health science and committed to learning during summer break. It’s a great way for children interested in a future health sciences career — doctor, nurse, dentist, veterinarian, pharmacist and many more — to get started on the right path. - Summer Prep engages first through eighth grade students in health sciences theme-related learning experiences.
- Health Sciences Enrichment Program (HSEP) is designed for high school students who have expressed a strong interest in studying and learning more about the many health care professions.
- Introduction to Coding will introduce seventh and eighth grade students to 21st Century technology and foster the development of basic computer programming skills through New Media Art. This class is designed as the framework for students to learn a new essential literacy and skill set through a rich blend of programming language and coding applications.

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp: a summer school of the arts located on a 1,400 acre campus in Michigan’s Manistee National Forest, offers fine arts education for all ages. Each summer, the principal camp program serves more than 5,400 gifted elementary, junior high, and high school students with diverse programs in music, art, dance, and drama while offering more than 175 performances during its Summer Arts Festival. Blue Lake also operates a widely acclaimed International Exchange Program and two public radio stations. Illinois Tech Computer Discovery Camp: The Illinois Tech Computer Discovery Camp is a two-week camp (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.) that engages pre-collegiate students in hands-on activities to help develop spatial visualization and problem-solving skills. The purpose of the camp is to stimulate interest in computers and to lay a foundation for careers in computer science (CS) and related disciplines. Each summer camp offers a different curriculum so students can continue to participate every summer. This summer, we will focus on "Art and CS". We will use Lego Mindstorms for Artbotics and learn to use software to do some graphic design. Participants with prior experience will be grouped accordingly. Shedd Aquarium Summer Worlds Tour: Summer Worlds Tour offers a week of adventures in Chicago's premier museums for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade in the fall of 2016.
